Martin Clay writes his personal experience attending "Christ at the Checkpoint" conference of bringing together Palestinian and international Evangelical Christians concerning the theology of the land.
"The conference, open to local residents as well as nationals and internationals, as well as focusing on the shadow cast over the West Bank and all Palestinians by the damaging ethnic implications of the beliefs of Christian Zionism, was a forum for worship in English and Arabic, for investigating issues such as the principles of non-violence (non-violence we learned is not the same as peace but a technique for activism), and the position of Palestinian Christians within Israel, and for visits to the Checkpoint to give delegates an insight into what local people faced at 6 am in the morning".

After the conclusion of the exams and their marking and with the second week of December NBS had geared up for Christmas. First the school was decorated. Then the spiritual emphasis week was on the way. Simultaneously the Christmas bazaar started.

"It is undeniable that the Palestinian people- Muslim and Christians- have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than sixty years they have endured the pain of dislocation, Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza and neighboring lands of a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. The above words were spoken by the President of the United States Barack Obama in Cairo to millions of people around the world. Never before had a US president even admitted the existence of Palestinian Christians let alone speak of the suffering of Palestinian Christians.

Features: Arabs in Palestine and Jordan predate Christianity and Islam
The visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Jordan and Palestine is a perfect opportunity to review and stress the role of Christian Arabs in the peace process and their strong support for peace with justice.
To begin with, it is important for all to know that Arabs have been in Palestine and Jordan before the arrival of Islam and Christianity. References to the word "Arab" and its derivatives are mentioned hundreds of times in the Old and New Testaments. The biblical figure of Job is said to be Arab; Arabs were among the many attending the sermon on the Day of Pentecost by St. Peter, and were among the 3,000 who then became Christians. Acts II refers to Arabs having heard the sermon in their own tongue.

Features: Teacher from Nazareth in the finals in the prestigious “Teacher of the country”
Mrs. Ruba Kardosh ,Nazareth Baptist School Science and Mathematics teacher among the 33 teachers who reached the finals of the nationwide contest of the Israel widespread Israeli newspaper “Yediot Ahronot”. The newspaper published the names and pictures of the finalistsof the contest including Mrs. Kardoshon Friday the 27th of March with the following description:
Mrs. Ruba Kardosh teaches Mathematics and science in the Baptist School in Nazareth. She coordinates the "excellence 2000" program in school and the "Green" program that's main purpose is to prevent violence among youth. She brought into the building of the sophisticated "space lab" in school and operates it once a week voluntary for the rest of other schools in town.

Features: God in Gaza - Reconciliation work goes on despite worst violence since 1967
Three weeks of Israel-Hamas fighting left Gaza's beleaguered Christian community beginning 2009 in their worst situation since the 1967 Arab-Israeli War.
"We as Palestinian Christians are very saddened to see those on both sides killed from bombing and rockets lobbed back and forth, but Israel has exaggerated their response," said Hanna Massad, exiled pastor of Gaza Baptist Church, the only evangelical congregation in the 25-mile coastal strip. "We weep for the Israelis who have died, but the suffering is much more on the Gazans."
