Druze hooligans attack Christians in the Village of Rama
At Tuesday, a fight between two young men in the village in Rama ended with the killing of a young Druze guy. This Thursday, and after the funeral, tens of Druze men attacked Christian men, homes and property that belong to Christian residents. Some of the people that were attacked attended the funeral. Ten people were injured.

Rama is a peaceful village located on a pastoral hill in the western side of Galilee, on the road between Acco and Safad and is inhabited by Christians, Druze and Moslems. The local municipality in Rama announced a general strike at Thursday, the day where the funeral and attack took place.

One of the cars that were damaged belongs to a Baptist Pastor who lives in Rama. He said that he personally called the Police and the Fire Department and were both late to come, and arrived at the scene only when the violence stopped and the fire was stopped.

Many Christians in Galilee feel that when they are in danger, there is nobody to protect them. This story brings back memories of riots in Toraan, Nazareth and Kufur Yaseef where Moslems or Druze attacked Christians, while the Police was late to come in and protect the Christians.

A Christian man summarized the situation of Christians in Israel: ?It is outrageous that every fight between two young people turns into an inter-religious conflict. We feel helpless. Moslems are much greater in number, Druze have weapons since they serve in the army, and the Israeli police that is supposed to protect us does not see us as a priority and is always late to interfere in these fights. Our only choice is to remain silent or just leave the country?.

Community leaders from the region are trying to find a solution to the dispute.
