Court Orders Demolishing of Shehab El-Din Mosque
A court in Nazareth today ordered the demolishing of the Shehab El-Din Mosque. This is the mosque that was built on a land near the Church of Annunciation.

The court ordered the Moslem Waqf committee to demolish the building in three days since it was built illegally.

The first floor of the mosque was built few months ago by the waqf committee. This has been the source of a dispute between the municipality of Nazareth that wanted to build a plaza for tourists and a parking area, while the Moslem Waqf claimed that the land is Moslem land and wanted to build a mosque.

The dispute regarding the Shehab El-Din Mosque has been a sour area in relations between Christians and Moslems in Nazareth, the center of the Arabs in Israel.

"This decision is dangerous", according to Abdul Malik Dahamshy, Kenneset Member with the Islamic Movement. "It is un-sane, un-fair and can cause to bad results". MK. Dahamshy was quoted in Maariv.
