The Nazareth Center for Christian Studies Opens in September 2007 The opening of this strategic Center of learning is an exciting time for the churches and Christian bodies in Galilee and for all concerned in Israel and abroad. It is not only for those seeking academic training in theology but also for church members who wish to gain a greater knowledge of God through one of the Center’s lay training and more practical programs.

The following are the academic programs offered:

Batchelor of Divinity (BD)

NCCS, in partnership with Spurgeons College in London, is offering the Spurgeons College BD to be taught at NCCS but awarded by Spurgeons and The University of Wales. It is accredited by the University of Wales.

The BD is a 3 year program and includes: Biblical Studies, Old and New Testament, Systematic Theology, Pastoral Care, Preaching, Church History, Missiology, Communication and Hermeneutics, Comparative Religions & Christian Leadership.

Classes are from 4 to 9 in the evening although there are some intensive courses which are taught over a period of 7 to 10 days. The BD can be studied for, full time or part time. This course begins September 2007.

Masters in Theology (MTh)

NCCS is also working towards a full partnership with the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. Through this partnership we will offer the IBTS Masters Degree in Theology and the Masters Degree in Biblical Studies.

This is a 2 year programme full time (3 to 5 years part time) Entry to the program requires a theology degree or the NCCS pre-Masters Certificate.

This is a research degree with the requirement of 6 x 5000 word papers and a 20,000 word dissertation. This course commences October 2008.

Pre- Masters Certificate (PMC)

The pre-Masters Certificate is designed for those holding degrees in non theological disciplines, who want to go on to study theology as an academic discipline. The PMC is an intensive year of Theological and Biblical Studies giving entry to the IBTS MTh. Program.
