Nazareth Baptist School was founded in 1950. Through the years, it has been recognized as one of the best schools in Nazareth, the center of the life of Arabs in Israel. On Tuesday Morning, more than 1100 pupils will attend the school that has been a blessing to the town where Jesus spent the largest part of His life on earth.

While pupils from ages 5 till 18 prepare to start school in the beginning of September, the ministry of education released the ranking of Israeli schools in last year's Bagrut Exams (the matriculation exam). Bagrut (Means Adulthood in Hebrew) exams are the final school tests, which based on them (and some other psychometric exams) ,universities all around the country will filter candidates for different faculties.

Results from the Nazareth Baptist School (NBS) have been outstanding this year. According to these results, the school is ranked very high in the nationwide list of schools.

The ranking system categorizes the highest 10% of all students in every subject as "honors". Following this method 100% of the students in Physics and Arabic at the NBS were "honors", 93% of the Chemistry Students, 91% of the math students and 67% of the English Students. (all in the high level called the 5 units level).

Furthermore, according to the statistics released by the Israeli Ministry of Education, the results of the NBS show that 88.24 % of the students who did the exams have achieved results higher than the minimum level requested for admission to Israeli universities.

NBS will be celebrating its 50th graduation ceremony this year,and a special book will be published in this occasion noting the special history and contribution of individuals to the success and flourishing of the school.

Since its beginning, special emphasis was put on the spiritual side of the students too and a special time is dedicated every day for prayer ,singing hymns and devotions.Part of the students and graduates are involved in ministry all around Israel.

The school that was established by American Southern Baptists is run today by a local Christian board of directors. It is the only Evangelical school throughout the land .

The General director of the school is Mr. Fuad Haddad, who is also the Chairman of the Association of Baptist Churches in Israel. The Association of Baptist churches has 18 Baptist Churches and around 1500 members. Mr. Haddad has accompanied the NBS from the beginning as a teacher,vice principal,principal and now as general director.

Principal of NBS is Dr. Osama Moalem, who holds a PHD in Bio Medical Studies from the Technion in Haifa and Few patents have been registered on his name.

In recent years the school has expanded in numbers and the board of directors is looking into the possibility of purchasing a piece of land to build new and larger premises to meet the increasing needs.
The School has around 1100 pupils and 100 staff members.
