Baptists sue local committee for construction for 14 Million Dollars
According to the law suit, the non-profit organization of the Baptist Convention in Israel owns a number of land parcels that are adjunct to the Yarkonim compound, east and west of Highway 40 and south of Highway 5. These parcels that are 170 donum of land (42 Acre) had an economical potential for change of destination and a possibility of economic use in high probability.

According to a new zoning plan from November 2003, the mentioned land was declared as part of a national park or a stream - with no potential of re-zoning. The suit claims that the meaning of this new zoning plan is the loss of the potential of building in the compound - lowering the value of the land to a nominal value.

The Baptist village is owned by the Baptist convention in Israel, a non-profit organization that promotes the interests of the American Southern Baptist Convention in Israel. It was founded in 1955, was used as an orphanage and a school in the early years, then became a conference center.
