Teacher of Nazareth Baptist School Receives the "Distinguished Teacher" award
Teacher of Nazareth Baptist School Receives the Dr. Moalem is a graduate of the Israeli Institute of Technology in Haifa (The Technion). He has two patents registered in his name in the Biophysics arena for the use of laser beams in the medical fields. In 1981, he started working at the Nazareth Baptist School (NBS) as a Physics teacher, and in 1999 he was appointed as Principal of the school, although he continued teaching Physics for the upper grade levels. Because of Dr. Ousama's tireless work at the school, the subject of Physics has become a prestigious and sought after major for high school students at NBS.

Ninety-six percent (96%) of all students at NBS who took the Physics matriculation exam in the last 3 years were labeled "excellent students". According to the Ministry of Education in Israel, an "excellent student" is one who scored in the top 5 percentile nationwide. Another achievement that has greatly distinguished NBS in Israel, besides its being the only evangelical school in the country, is the number of its students who submitted to the Ministry of Education research theses in Physics, in addition to the required theoretical matriculation exam. To give you an idea of this, in the last 12 years, thirty-two (32) such research theses were submitted.

Dr. Moalem personally supervised twenty-four of these student researches, and out of the 32 theses, 8 (six of which Dr. Moalem supervised) qualified to represent Israel in the international contest entitled "The First Step to a Nobel Prize in Physics". Israel submitted a total of 21 theses, and ranked 5th in this contest for an accumulation of prizes.

Nazareth Baptist School was established in 1949, and since its conception has been known for its high quality education, which is apparent when one considers the fact that 90% of its graduates continue on to higher learning in universities in both Israel and abroad. Dr.Moalem and the other dedicated staff of NBS continue to encourage students to participate in various scientific contests.

Dr. Moalem is married to Dr. Rawya Moalem, a gastro-medical doctor. They have 3 sons whose ages are 9, 7, and 6.
