Such persecution was made possible by a bipartisan American faction that supported the invasion of Iraq — an invasion that created a violent void in which sectarian violence raged. And let's not forget that this coalition included the strong, vocal, and public support of influential evangelicals — claiming to speak on behalf of the "Prince of Peace" no less.

The situation in Gaza is much worse than during any other conflict there has been before. Dear brothers are breaking down in agony due to the trauma they are suffering from the constant bombardment. Even amongst those who have not been killed, many lives will never be the same again.

Faten is a citizen of Gaza and a committed Baptist. I am amazed by Faten’s sense of divine sovereignty. She wholeheartedly believes that her life is in God’s hands. God is her refuge in Gaza. God called her to serve Him in this difficult place and she will honor her Lord.

There is no way to avoid it: If the Christian believers really want to obey their master, they should not just be praying “thy kingdom come” but truly pursuing it- even between Israel and the Palestinians.

We hope that the violence will soon cease, and that all of this will be behind us by the time you read this. But, nonetheless, the results of these acts of violence will remain with us, namely, the casualties, the suffering, and the elevated hatred and hopelessness on both sides.
