    Israel Welcomes Evangelical Support—but not an Evangelical Presence
    For more than a year, I have repeatedly visited the office of the Christian Affairs Department at the Israeli Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jerusalem to seek a clergy visa for Rev. Jeff Hoover. Jeff is a U.S. citizen from Raleigh, North Carolina. Our international congregation in East Jerusalem called Rev. Hoover to come to Jerusalem to serve as an assistant pastor, since I am approaching retirement.

    Many pro-Israeli organizations and individuals connected between closing a Baptist church in Bethlehem and the Christ at the Checkpoint Conference, which just took place last week in Bethlehem.

    There was only one problem with this. It was factually wrong. The church was never closed

    Leaders of the UMJC and MJAA joined forces again this month to issue a statement on a matter of deep concern for the Messianic Jewish community. The statement, on the "Christ at the Checkpoint" conference scheduled for March 5-9 in Bethlehem, included leaders of the International Messianic Jewish Alliance and the International Association of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues.
